Hollins University has received $11,190 from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to support on-campus initiatives addressing student food insecurity.
The grants are funded by the 无饥饿校园食品储藏室资助计划, enacted by the General Assembly in 2025.
“This grant will directly strengthen our ability to ensure that no student has to choose between meeting basic needs and focusing on their education,” 负责学生成功、幸福和归属的副总裁蒂芙尼·辛顿 said.

“I’m so excited for the possibilities ahead to expand access, recognize our wonderful volunteers, and create consistency and excellent resources through the pantry,” 大学牧师兼跨信仰归属主任林赛·莫泽 said.
Hollins’ campus Food Pantry is located in duPont Chapel and is open Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. It is part of the university chapel’s 护理中心, which also includes the Free Store, Career Closet, and Campus Lactation Room.
“We are deeply grateful for funding from the General Assembly, as well as support from Reunion Weekend giving, the 霍林斯反贫困倡议, and a coalition of alumni, faculty, staff, community partners, and donors,” Hinton said.
