Hollins University’s 59^th Annual Nancy Thorp Poetry Contest has awarded its top prize to a student from Ohio.

南希·索普诗歌大赛为高中或预科学校二年级或三年级学生或在家自学的年轻女性提交的最佳诗歌颁发奖项。今年，来自41个州、哥伦比亚特区和美国以外的5个国家的549名参赛者提交了参赛作品。除了七名第一名和第二名的获奖者外，还有50名学生的作品获得了荣誉奖。

南希·索普是霍林斯1960届的一名学生，她是一名年轻的诗人，在学生时代就表现出了很大的希望。 1962年她去世后，她的家人创办了南希·索普诗歌比赛，以鼓励年轻诗人的作品。
